Mousse

Mousse is a foam applied to damp hair before drying. The brand says it adds hold and body. Use a small amount at the roots and comb it through.

Texturizing spray

Texturizing spray goes on dry hair. The brand says it adds grip and texture. Spray, then scrunch or tousle.

Which one

  • Want hold as you dry: mousse before drying.
  • Want texture and grip after styling: texturizing spray.
  • Some people use both.

Keep it light

More product can mean more weight. Start small. The AAD suggests cutting back on "long-lasting hold" products if you comb hair after applying them.

Mousse or spray. Wet or dry.
